How to lose weight is the big question which many obese or overweight people face.  Many of you who are overweight,  obese or fat might have tried hard to lose weight but with little or no success at all.  Many of you might have put on the weight instead of losing it.  One of the reasons behind all these weight problems could be sleep deficiency.

Though this may sound strange but new research suggests that sleep loss may affect the body’s metabolism and also increase hunger level as a result it becomes difficult to maintain or lose weight.  This new research highlighted the new fact that sleep and sleep disorder do notable things to the body, which includes influence on our weight.

The hormones leptin and ghrelin directly influence weight loss.  When you are deprived of sleep then your leptin level decreases as a result you are not satisfied with what you eat, on the other hand ghrelin level increases which stimulates your appetite.  If two show their combined effect then it might lead to weight gain.

There are few other facts which can also causes problem for overweight person to lose weight.

  • Many of the obese people suffer from sleep disorder called as sleep apnea.  In sleep apnea disorder, breathing suddenly starts and stops in between the sleep which gives awakening effect.  This might happen many times in the night without even your knowledge. As a result next day you would feel sleepy.
  •  Some of the overweight people also suffer from low back pain. The low back pain is a condition which makes lying comfortably in bed difficult and as a result of its side-effect you can’t get a good sleep.
  • Many obese people suffering from insomnia can not fall asleep, and are worried or depressed considering their weight problem this can be main cause for insomnia. 

Have a sound sleep to lose extra pounds

Even healthy, young people can face problem if they don’t sleep properly. You should also understand the importance of sound sleep, Not only the duration of your sleep, but also the quality of your sleep is important.  So for the people, who really want to lose weight should set up a proper balance between their sleep, eating habits as well as exercise.
